Knights Place Second
As East Wins Track Meet;
   Southeast placed second in the Big Seven indoor tack meet last Saturday night, February 29. East high school won the meet with 16 points. Southeast scored 12, Southwest 10, Northeast 8, Westport 5, Central 3, and Paseo 1.
   Roger Taylor qualified in the 60-yard dash Friday night and placed second Saturday night which was good for 3 points.
   Southeast proved to be especially strong in the low hurdles gaining 8 points. Dwight Darr won this event and Gary Fuqua came in second.
   Our other point was picked up by the relay team which finished fourth. The four members of the team were: Don Eichman, Roger Taylor, Darrell Koll, and Don Carney.
   There were several other boys who ran their hearts out Friday night but were unable to qualify.
   In the 880-yard run were Mike O'Byrne and Phillip Benson.
   Dick Kirwan and Dave Crowley gave the 440-yard run everything they had but were unable to place.
   Don Carney, running the 60-yard dash, was also unable to place.

   The high school track meet was run between the Big Seven college events.
   The high schools did not compete in the broad jump, high hurdles, shot put, mile run, two mile run, high jump, or pole vault.

State Track Meet
   Dwight Darr showed well in both the 60-yard hurdles and the 65-yard low hurdles. He won third place in each event.

Knights Score 71 Points
To Win Rosedale Meet
   Southeast's track team took the ruling hand in its triangular meet with Rosedale and Ward at Rosedale, Friday, March 26. The Knights scored 71 points; Rosedale, 53; and Ward, 45.
   Southeast captured five first places out of the 16 events. Dwight Darr scored two of these; one in the low hurdles and one in the highs. Roger Taylor won the 100-yard dash, Bob Davis took the pole vault, and the 880-yard relay team won their event. The runners were Carney, Cartwright, Keen, and Taylor.
