A HIGH SCHOOL MEMORY

At some point, and I'm not sure who first got the inspiration for it, or how, or why (maybe all kids do it) some of us changed our names, using the simple concept of spelling our own names backwards.

Mine was nothing to brag on, being of uncertain pronunciation.  But I still remember what I thought were the most colorful of the lot.  Ah, yes –  good ol' math and science wizard Nor Notpit, and the soft-spoken wise guy Yorel Resnag.

A Trip South in 2010
Excerpts of an email to Marty Bruns

We are home again after a couple of weeks in Tennessee and the Carolinas.

We joined brother Jim and his wife at their son's home in Knoxville, then had the Williams Family Reunion in the scenic mountains of southwest North Carolina, then the military funeral for Jean Anne's cousin Jonathon Hall in Chattanooga, and on across Georgia for three days in Savannah and then up the road for three days in Charleston, South Carolina.

Plenty of good Southern cookin', and low country cuisine where we concentrated on seafood, and some of your favorite, fried chicken.  Also loaded up on fried chicken when we stopped by Lambert's (Home of Throwed Rolls) in Sikeston, Missouri on the way home.

Hope spring has come to Iowa by now.  Say Hi to Audrey.

A LOVE STORY

Tom tells a very touching tale about how he and Jean Anne met again at a class reunion.

And how that  was the first step toward their decision to get married.
