   Carol Von Demfange had a birthday party to celebrate her 18th birthday. Some of the senior girls attending were Joleen Watts, Carolyn Stewart, Sandy Steele, Luann Mitchell and several others.
   A group of sophomores, juniors, and seniors got together at Sandra Steele's house for a "platter party." Some of the gals there were: Eleanor Payne, Beth Fowler, Pat Adamson, Kay Lockwood, Toby Herron, Jane Cook, and Juanita Gibson.
   Presiding over Les Chevaliers French Club are Yvonne L'Hommedieu, president; Pat Hunter, vice-president; Don Teeters, treasurer; David Ritsch, Sgt.-at-arms; Sandra Steele, Round Table representative; Carolyn Needles, Tower reporter.
   Liz Crosby's house was the scene of a bang up birthday party. Carol Hamarstrom, Nanette Preston, Carolyn Stewart, Carol Gain and Sandra Steele were a few of the many senior gals having a grand time.

FUN IN OPERA was the subject of a lecture last night at the Public library opening a series of eight sessions. Mrs. Sandra Jones (right) discussed the Puccini farce, “Gianni Schicchi. With her are (left to right) Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wallace; Jill Ingram, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Ingram, and Mrs. Jones’ husband.
   For the third consecutive summer, a group of Kansas City citizens is giving a pre-season series of lecture-demonstra-tions to prove one point, opera can be fun.
   The talks are being presented Tuesday and Thursday nights in the fifth-floor public library building and will cover by September 17 each of the productions to be offered this
   Last night’s topic was Puccini’s one-act farce, “Gianni Schicchi.” The presentation given by Mrs. Sandra Jones, was one hour long. It began with a brief discussion of the plot and the musical themes. Then a recording of the opera was played while Mrs. Jones showed illustrations of the various scenes
